Kindness Quote
We organize multiple contests each month to promote kindness and empathy. Here, we held a contest focused on kindness quotes, where members submitted their original quotes. Winners were rewarded for their contributions.
In September 2022 a family friend of MetaHug, Aurelia who is two years old was diagnosed with "Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (T-Cell)", an aggressive type of cancer that affects white blood cells. She has been undergoing treatment at Great Ormond Street Hospital for the past nine months.
Unfortunately, however, she has suffered an early and extreme relapse of the cancer across her body, blood and central nervous system. Doctors have given her the lowest percentile predicted survival rate.
Members participate in this act of kindness to little Aurelia by giving "get well notes". Below is a compilation video from the collection of notes we collected over 25 different countries to send to Aurelia and her family.
Avatar Contest
Our avatar contest was enlightening, affirming that digital identities are genuine extensions of oneself. It served as a medium for participants to explore and express their identities, highlighting the differences between their digital selves and real-life personas.
Act of Kindness
Our "Act of Kindness" channel was created to offer a space where members can request assistance, and other members volunteer to help for free as an act of kindness. Selling services or asking for money is prohibited; all tasks are to be completed as favors for one another. Requests vary widely, from creating art of members' avatars to offering free tutoring services. Additionally, a thread of daily quotes has been started to uplift and inspire one another.
Just Ask
Our "Just Ask" channel is dedicated to health-related discussions, where members seek and offer support for a variety of concerns including stress, anxiety, depression, coping with parental divorce, healthy eating habits, and sleep issues. Other members contribute by sharing their advice and experiences. Additionally, the channel is moderated by an interning therapist, who provides more clinical advice and tips to ensure informed and supportive guidance is available.
